Chicago women are carrying a lot. Career pressure. Family responsibility. The expectation to be competent, composed, and available simultaneously. Somewhere in the middle of all of it, the question of what you actually want, who you actually are, and what you actually need can get very quiet. Individual therapy for women in Chicago creates space to listen to those questions honestly, and to build a life that belongs to you, not just to everyone who needs something from you.
Women who come to therapy in Chicago are rarely struggling with one thing. They are navigating an intersection: career and relationship, ambition and guilt, self-advocacy and the expectations of family, culture, or partnership.
Individual therapy here does not address one piece of that in isolation. It holds the whole picture.
Loop office at 125 S Wacker Drive with lunch-hour and evening appointments. Hyde Park office with Friday evening and Saturday availability. Online therapy throughout Illinois.
The pressures Chicago women navigate are specific. The dual standard of a city that celebrates ambition but still frequently penalizes it in women. The particular exhaustion of being the emotional manager of a household while also building a career. The cultural layers for women from immigrant families, navigating the expectations of two worlds simultaneously.
Being expected to be professionally excellent, relationally present, physically composed, and emotionally available is not a manageable standard. Therapy is a place to examine that standard honestly and decide what you actually want to carry.
Many women have learned that putting themselves last is what good women do. Therapy helps distinguish between genuine generosity and patterns of self-erasure that are costing you more than you recognize.
This work is not about making women less connected to others. It is about building a foundation of genuine self-knowledge that makes every relationship more honest.

One of the most common things women bring to therapy is exhaustion that does not have a simple cause. It is not one job or one relationship or one responsibility. It is the accumulated weight of doing everything for everyone, often extremely well, while privately running on empty.
Therapy is a place where that exhaustion can be named without apologizing for it. And where the patterns that generated it, the beliefs about what good women do and what they are allowed to want, can finally be examined.
Specialization in women’s experience: The Role of Modern Women is a specific area of focus in this practice, not a generic category
Cultural competence: Sabita works with women from South Asian, African American, Latinx, and other cultural backgrounds with specific attention to how cultural expectation and personal identity intersect
Generational healing lens: The patterns limiting you now were almost certainly modeled by the women in your family. Understanding that is the fastest route to changing it
